According to Statistics Canada, the country’s external trade surplus declined down to 2.1B CAD in January 2012. The export shrunk by 2.3% down to 41,4B while the import declined by 0.6% down to 34,3B.
The USA is Canada’s major trade partner. Its export and import in January 2012 reached $30,6B and $24,5B correspondingly. The surplus declined by 0.3%.
USDCAD. According to , USDCAD hasn’t finished its long-term downtrend yet. It has recently been fluctuating within the 1,0033-0,9859 range. In order to resume the downtrend, the price will have to break below 0,9859. A break above the top of the rage will start the bearish scenario. In this case, 1.0054 and 1.0074 will become the closest levels of resistance.
