Yesterday’s trading session ended in the green zone. As expected, there was almost no major news. However, Georgeos Papandreou’s resignation completely compensated the lack of major economic news. Obviously, that reassured the markets as they started rallying.
The British Pound gained more than 100 points versus the US Dollar. The secondary option barrier 1.6074 was overcome. The current option barrier is now located at 1.6230.
Today’s news background is not rich in major reports as well. The only relevant event is Ben Bernanke’s speech. It is also necessary to focus on the situation around the Greek government and Italian bond yields as some experts say that the Greece-style default may infect other eurozone countries.
