Android has become the world’s most popular operating system for mobile devices. At this point some 70% of tablet PCs are powered by various versions of Android OS.
According to the experts working for Strategy Analytcis, tablet manufacturers delivered some 34?6 million devices powered by Android OS in Q2 2013. For comparison sake, last year’s figures are 18.5 million devices or 51% of the global market.
Apple is gradually losing its market share, yielding to Android devices. During the reporting period, Apple delivered some 14,6 million iPads, which is -17% as compared to Q2 2012. The market share of iOS saw a major decline as well – from 47.2 in 2012 down to 28,3 this year.
