There are 1838 officially recognized professions in China. Now, there list is up by 2 professions - blockchain engineer and blockchain app operator. The Chinese Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) has recently confirmed that by updating the list of official professions.
It's interesting to note that the ministry defines the "blockchain engineer" as a person working on architecting, developing, testing systems apps. At the same time the "blockchain app operator" is focused on the methods the blockchain apps are based upon, including the apps used in industrial production, education, and other public sectors.

Yet, this is crucial for the industry since it allows the stats experts to figure out the amount of such professionals and their involvement. In particular, it will be possible to track the employment and the demand in order to adjust the educational plans accordingly.

However, if the amount of those employed in the blockchain sector keeps on growing steadily year over year, this will be the sign that the industry is stable.
At the same time, those official names for jobs in the industry will mean the start of regulation activities in the industry. ST Daily reports that such experts also have their ethics.
The international community seems to have reacted positively to the news. The announcement on the China Daily website got 1500 likes and 450 actions on Weibo. Some companies started posting blockchain-related vacancies.
