The thing is that the new sanctions approved by the U.S. Congress and signed by Donald Trump (even though he was against those sanctions), obliges the U.S. financial intelligence to provide the Congress with the information on all the known and probable assets belonging to the all the high-ranking Russian politicians, including Russian President Vladimir Putin. With that being said, it’s not accidental, that Putin is mentioned several times in the document.
The experts assume that the intelligence already has all of the required information. All that’s left to do is make this info public and evaluate it from the standpoint of the American AML legislation. By the way, AML stands for anti-money laundering. The expert also says that the Kremlin’s Czar is not going to hide behind his entourage’s backs since everyone will get to know that Russian cellist Roldugin’s assets are actually Putin’s assets.
At the same time, the expert assume that the American establishment could have done this long ago but they kept on delaying this decision not to worsen the relations with Russia. This is going to be a serious blow for Russia’s political establishment rather than Russian businessmen from Forbes 100.
At this point, few people actually understand how serious this move is going to affect high-ranking Russian politicians. So, the expert concludes that the new round of sanctions is a war on Russia’s political establishment designed to show the world that they rob their own country of money but store and use the treasures abroad.
