Many observers around the world see the USA’s recent missile attack on Asad’s troops in Syria as a major event. The decision made by president Trump seems to have changed a lot in geopolitics and the balance of powers, they say.
59 missiles launched to hit a Syrian airbase are now viewed as a proof that Donald Trump is not a pro-Russian politicians seeking friendship with Vladimir Putin. As you know, Trump’s opponents and even secret services have been accusing Russia of faking the results of the recent presidential election in the USA to give Donald Trump the lead. Amid the fact that Donald Trump used to seek for an opportunity to make friends with Russia, they though that Trump’s administration and Russia secretly cooperated to some extent.
Now, the situation seems to have changes since now it’s hard to believe that Putin and Trump are friends. For those of you who don’t know, Russia has been supporting Bashar Asad while the USA’ recent missile attack on Asad’s airbase indicates that Russia and the USA are not on the same side even though both of them seem to be fighting the ISIS and international terrorism. Even though Trump reassures that this missile attack was aimed at punishing Asad for using chemical weapon, the attack might have killed Russian soldiers as well (for now, there is no info on the matter) since Russian and Syrian troops come as joint forces.
While this attack may escalate the confrontation between Russia and the NATO, this incident may improve Donald Trump’s image in the eyes of his political opponents in the United States. Indeed, now it going to be harder for them to say that Trump is Putin’s puppet.
Still, the opposing part of the American society are definitely going to question the necessity of launching 59 missiles to destroy an airbase in Syria. It may well be that they are against escalating the relations with Russia while the recent attack has definitely increased the chances of escalating the confrontation. Russian Prime Minister Medvedev said that attacking a Syrian airbase was on the verge of starting an open conflict with Russia. However, Russia has done nothing more than that. Some experts say that Medvedev is now playing kind of a bad cop for Russia, while Putin is playing a good cop.
Anyway, the situation has changed. Both Russia and the USA are now thinking of possible scenarios. No one knows what’s coming next. But as we mentioned previously, Donald Trump seems to be winning from the situation since the list of accusations against him has now become much shorter. In this situation, some of his opponents have become allies. Still, there is a handful of political opponents who are not going to give up and are expected to try and benefit from the missile attack by starting a new wave of political attacks on Donald Trump.
In the meantime, the missile attack has challenged Russia, and this may well become the reason for suspending the Senate hearings related to Donald Trump’s election campaign and links to Russia. Now they will have to find another major reasons to resume the attempt to change the balance of political power in the USA.
