More and more experts say that president Trump nearly destroyed the Russian economy by starting a new arms race.
For those of you who don’t know, in late February 2017, Donald Trump announced his decision to increase the defense budget by 10% next year. However, this wasn’t an unexpected decision since Donald Trump had mentioned the necessity to boost defense spending a number of times, even when making his election pledges as a candidate.
However, you cannot take that much money out of thin air. This means that some other sectors may see spending cuts to all the defense spending to reach 54 billion dollars next year. CNN and some other American media inform that Donald Trump may do it at the expense of the United States Environmental Protection Agency as well as the United States Department of State.
The latter has already become a scapegoat. In late February, CBS reported that the employees working on 7th floor of the DoS building were fired. They say this is because the White House is going to be the one responsible for key decisions in the U.S. foreign policies. Donald Trump keeps on isolating the Department of State from geopolitics and cutting the amount of spending for the DoS.
Another ambition is to destroy the ISIS and the international terrorism. In this case, nobody seems to contradict Donald Trump since everyone supports this war on terrorism. Moreover, they say that Donald Trump will have to find a reason for this spending cuts, and this is where Russia may come in handy. It’s not accidental that Trump keeps on torturing the Kremlin with controversial promises and statements. So far, there has been no improvement in the bilateral relations between Moscow and Washington. Moreover, the relation may get even worse, transforming into another arms race.
