Donald Trump keeps on making Russia unpleasantly surprised. If a couple of months ago they used to welcome Trump’s victory and hope to make friends with the USA, now they start thinking that maybe Hillary Clinton could have become a better option for Russia as the U.S. President.
In the meantime, Donald Trump says that Obama is the one responsible for letting Russia capture the Crimea. He says Obama was too indecisive to prevent Russia from annex the Crimea. Moreover, not only did Donald Trump put the blame on Obama, he also hinted that everything would be different. This is now seen as a wakeup call for Russia coming from Washington, saying that Donald Trump is not another Barack Obama, which means Russia should be careful while playing dirty tricks in the international arena.
The other day, the White House gave Putin to understand that the relations between Russia and the USA won’t improve until Russia gives the Crimea back to Ukraine and starts deescalating the armed conflict in Donbass. This also means that the White House is sure that Russia is participating in the conflict by supporting the separatists.
For now observers are busy trying to figure out whether President Trump is trying to throw sand into the eyes of his political opponents and the entire international community (he says, just take a look at how we are indignant at Russia’s aggression and trying to fight it) or he is really starting to exert some pressure on Putin. Time will show…
