According to the recent stats published by the U.S. Department of Labor, initial jobless claims showed some decline and dropped by as much as 8000 claims over the reporting period. This brought the figures all the way down to 252000 claims total. Masterforex-V Academy experts remind us that this is the lowest level since July 2016.
For those of you who don’t know, analysts had anticipated an increase in the amount of initial jobless claims. This means that analyst expectations eventually failed. To be more specific, analysts had expected an increase from 260K up to 261K claims over the same reporting period.
It is interesting to note that the initial jobless claims index keeps on staying below the key level. We remind you that the 300K level was broken in February 2015. Since then, the index has been staying below the level. It’s been 81 weeks, to be more specific.
It is also interesting to note that the previous report indicated a less considerable drop, just 2,25K down to 258,5K claims. The rate of unemployment dropped as well. As of September 10th, the total amount of unemployed Americans decreased by 36K people down to 2.11 million people.

The closest level of resistance is represented by the local high of 97.62.
