Philips representatives have revealed the company’s plans for the near future, including the intention to enter the OLED market. For those of you who don’t know, the Hi-Tech News Department of Market Leader reports that for now LG and Panasonic are the key players promoting OLED TV. It is interesting to note that Panasonic makes use of LG’s technology and complements it with its own electronics to expand the functionality.
Market observers report that OLED TVs keep on going down in price as the technology advances and becomes more popular. They predict that such devices are going to get even cheaper as new companies are going to come in. In particular, Philips is determined to start producing its won OLED TVs. They say that Philips is also going to make use of LG’s technology instead of coming up with its own one.
It is also interesting to note that Philips is not going to focus on 3D TV technology since most people have already lost interest in it, which means this technology isn’t worth investing in, they say.
As for the company’s stock, Philips saw the shares appreciate by 0.55% earlier on the trading day. This is confirmed by the chart below, courtesy of Masterforex-V Academy.
