For the first time in Apple’s history, its App Store has been attacked by hackers. According to the Hi-Tech Department of Masterforex-V Academy, the hackers used a virus called XcodeGhost to infect iOS apps through XCode, Apple’s IDE for developers.
At this point, hundreds iOS apps are reported to have been infected. Therefore, the local experts are busy cleaning App Store from the malware.
The expert community blame Chinese hackers for the attack even though the Chinese part of App Store suffered from the attack as well. Previously, Chinese experts specializing in cyber crimes reported that the virus infected 344 apps in the local Chinese App Store.
After several Chinese companies working in the online security industry sounded the alarm by reporting about the XcodeGhost malware infecting App Store, Apple started taking urgent actions to fight the virus.
According to Chinese experts who conducted comprehensive analysis, App Store somehow accepted 39 infected apps build in XCode, including the popular app called WeChat. Apple hasn’t still released an official report on the issue.
As for Apple’s stock, the price of AAPL entered the red zone after the news by losing 0,47% of its value. At this point, it is trading around $113,45 per share, which is confirmed by the chart below, courtesy of Masterforex-V Academy.
