LG, the world-famous South Korean manufacturer of computer electronics, is reported to be going to release a smartphone powered by Firefox OS, an open source operating system by Mozilla. According to the Hi-Tech Department of Masterforex-V Academy, the mentioned operating system have been available for several years. Still, it keeps on failing to gain popularity among manufacturers of mobile devices.
At this point, LG seems to be one of the few companies willing to support the operating system and expanding its presence. The Twitter account @upleaks, which is known for high-probability leaks, reports that LG is going to release a new smartphone named LG L25, which is going to be powered by Firefox OS. The supposition is made based on a blueprint and a screenshot of the UI.
At this point, the source says that the device is being made exclusively for the Japanese market and is not going to be released worldwide. At the same time, there are no tech specifications revealed. Still, all the mobile devices powered by Firefox OS belong to the low-cost segment of the market. Therefore, the device is unlikely to surprise the market with its tech specifications.
As for other Firefox-powered mobile devices available worldwide, there is Alcatel OneTouch Fire E. It has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 CPU (1,2GHz), 512 Mb of RAM and 4Gb of external memory. It costs over $100.
At the same time, the Hi-Tech Department of Masterforex-V Academy reports that LG’s stock is up by 0,41%. The stock is currently in a bullish cycle.
