According to The Korean Times, Apple ans Samsung, 2 biggest rivals in the mobile device segment, are going to revive the cooperation again. If to believe the media, the Korean tech heavyweight is going to revive its position of Apple's major CPU supplier once again. The CPUs are designed for Apple's mobile devices - iPhones and iPads.
According to Market Leader, Samsung has already signed an agreement with Apple to start start manufacturing the chips for Apple's new mobile devices. The first shipment is scheduled for 2015. According to the contract Samsung is going to produce 80% of the CPUs while the remaining 20% will be manufactured by TSMC (the chips are called Apple A8).
Samsung is reported to have managed to cut manufacturing costs at the expense of cooperating with Global Foundries. Samsung is going to start the production in early 2015 in one of its facilities in Kengido (South Korea).
Further on, the company is planning to make use of its facilities in Austin (USA) and GlobalFoundries' facility in New York. The agreement is estimated at several billion dollars.
Meanwhile, wall Street analysts insist that Samsung's failures in the mobile business keep on undermining its financial performance. The company will try to fix it by introducing some devices with curved screens, which is what Samsung's counterparts are unable to manufacture at this point. At the same time, this is the solution for the lack of original designs seen in the industry over the last few years.
Meanwhile, Masterforex-V Academy reports that Samsung's stock is trading in the green zone. Since the start of the trading day, the stock is already up by 1,24%, which is confirmed by the chart below, courtesy of MAsterforex-V Academy.
