Apple is planning to expand the cooperation with the contractor named Pegatron regarding to iPhone 6 Plus. The thing is that the demand for the new smartphone by Apple is still expanding, which requires bigger manufacturing capacity. The first agency to announce the news was the Japanese agency named Nikkei.
At the same time, Pegatron is expanding its production capacities in order to cater to the growing demand coming from Apple. The Taiwanese contractor is reported to have already invested 200 million dollar for that purpose. At the same time, some media report that Pegatron is planning to expand the investment up to 300 million in 2015.
Still, nothing is known about the details of the new order volume between coming from Apple to Pegatron. Still, if to believe the information spreading across the web, Pegantron is determined to start assembling iPhone 6 Plus (5,5 inches) in the near future. At this point, Foxconn has been the only assembling facility for frontline gadgets for years. Meanwhile, Pegantron has been busy assembling minor models like iPhone 5c and iPad mini.
It is interested to note that 76% of the gains made in the international smartphone market belongs to Apple. Samsung is the runner-up. Together, the make the lion’s share of the global mobile market. In quarter 3 3014, the ratio turned in favor of Apple to the great extent. While, Samsung saw its share going down from 41% in Q1 2014 down to 18% in Q3 2014, Apple’s figures boosted from 55% up to 76% over the same reporting period.
