Apple may start supplying its desktop and laptop compters (iMacs and Macbooks) with the processors similar to those used in its mobile devices, including iPad and iPhones. In particular, MacBidouille, a French online sources specializing in Apple news, refers to a reliable information source, which tells that the American tech giant is currently testing computers powered by ARM processors.
Market Leader reports that Apple has already created iMacs with quad-core and 8-core 64-bit CPUs with the ARM architecture. A similar CPU powers the mini version of iMac.
There is a 13-inch Macbook powered by a multi-core ARM CPU. By the way, the computers were equipped with a wide-screen touch panel called Magic Trackpad.
Still, there is nothing surprising about the news because some analysts anticipated this step a couple of years ago. In 2011, Apple threatened Intel to abandon its chips if the CPU manufacturer fails to make its chips more energy-efficient.
Meanwhile, Apple boosted its quarterly income up to $10,22bn, which is a 7% increase as compared to the previous reporting period. Apple's stock is trading higher. In particular, AAPL gained some 2% to rich $624,93 per share, Masterforex-V Academy reports.
