According to Economic Daily News (China), Google is planning to equip Nexus 6 with a 64-bit 8-core processor. The name of the CPU is Snapdragon 810. At this point, Google hasn’t confirmed its decision to name the next generation of its smartphones Nexus 6 but this is the most likely variant.
At the same time, Bill Davidson representing Qualcomm refused to comment on the matter and didn’t mention the release date of the new 8-core CPU. Still, the Chinese edition says (with reference to its own info sources) that the new processors will be available to smartphone manufacturers in the second half of the year.
As for the architecture of th new processor, rumors say that Qualcomm is using Krait64, but EDN assumes these are standard 64-bit ARM processors of the Cortex-A50 series. By the way, this is a one-crystal processor.
There are many benefits of a one-crystal system. For example, it supports LPDDR3-1600 up to 4Gb and Adreno 430 GPU (500 MHz, OpenGL ES 3.0, DirectX 11.1, OpenCL 1.2).
Meanwhile, Google stock is still gaining value and setting new price highs. At this point, the stock is trading around $1212 per share. The chart below, courtesy of Masterforex-V Academy, reflects the current state of affairs in the market of GOOG:
