Curesec, a German company engaged in cybersecurity, reports that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is vulnerable to hacker attacks. There is a vulnerability in the system that makes it possible to deactivate the lock of any mobile devices (smartphone or tablet) powered by this very version of Android OS. This leads to hack opportunities.
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Vulnerabilities
In particular, the owners of Android-powered devices may use several types of locks, including passwords, PIN codes, face or fingerprint scanning. It turns out that Jelly Bean allows to ger round this security step by means of some malware. The experts say it is related to com.android.settings. ChooseLockGeneric class – the one that is used to change the lock type.
For information sake, the same vulnerability was found in Android 4.4 Kit Kat, but Google managed to eliminated it fairly quickly. This leads us to believe that the same vulnerability in Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will be eliminated as well in the near future.
