Today, Nokia shareholders may approve the sale of Nokia’s mobile business to Microsoft, the US tech giant.
Market Leader journalists report that Nokia agreed to sell its mobile business in September 2013. Nokia is also willing to sell its patents. The decision came as the result of a failed attempt to go back to decent financial performance shown previously in the mobile sector.
The deal is expected to be finished completely in the first part of 2014. Still, the last signatures will emerge only after the deal is approved by certain regulators.
Independent analysts assume that the Finish company will be able to increase its net cash assets at least up to 8 billion euros.
At this point, Nokia’s mobile business is brining losses, Masterforex-V Academy reports. This is definitely affects the company’s overall financial performance. That is why the company decided to sell the business. During January-September 2013, Nokia Group’s proceeds reach only 17.2 billion euros.
