Samsung, a major South-Korean manufacturer of computer electronics is getting ready to introduce the first mobile device powered by a new operating system called Tizen OS. Experts used to think that this is going to be a smartphone or a tablet. However, this is going to be a photo camera. This device is called NX300M.
Tizen is a product developed by Linux Foundation and LiMo Foundation. It is based on the Linux core. This OS can be sued to power devices based on ARM or x86 CPUs. Samsung and Intel started supporting the project off the bat.
The first Tizen-powered smartphones by Samsung will come into market in February 2014. They will come with 2.2.1.
