Microsoft company earns 2 bln. dollars per year by selling licenses on use of its products to producers of Android-type devices. This means that the highly-competitive operating system Android brings the software giant more income than own OS Windows Phone.
Profit rate of Android direction is 95 percent. This money is earned almost without any effort. The money is needed only for legal implementation of transactions on sale of patents and, if necessary, for court trials, as informed by “Hi-tech” Department of the “Market Leader”.
Today the company receives license fees from almost all producers of Android-type devices. According to analysts, Microsoft includes profit from producers of Android-type devices into “mobile section”. Profit from patent is joined with Skype, Xbox, and Windows Phone. If to eliminate profit from Android, it is easy to calculate that Microsoft loses 2.5 bln. dollars on Skype, Xbox, and Windows Phone. From this sum about 2 bln. dollars of loss falls on Xbox platform.
