Quarterly report of USDA was published on September 27, 2013:
Hog and pigs inventory has amounted to 68.360 mln. heads, having thus increased by 2.64% in comparison to the previous quarter and by 0.28% in comparison to last year.
The number of sows farrowed – 2.925 mln. heads, which is 0.01% less than last year.
Pig crop – 30.21 mln. heads, having increased by 1.87% in comparison to last year.
Litter rate is 10.33 heads, which is 2.18% more than last year.
Seasonal patterns: historical patterns show growth till the beginning of October and further decline by the end of the month.
Last week’s results: production has amounted to 446 mln. pounds, which is 5.75% less than last year and 0.61% more than last week.


Slaughter has amounted to 2.19 mln. heads, which is 6.45% less than last year and 0.46% more than last week.

According to the Analytics Team of Options Trade Department of Masterforex-V Academy, in mid-term perspective price drop is to be expected at pork market.
