Apple has published its statistics on sale of new products during the first weekend. For the period of September 20-22 about 9 mln. smartphones iPhone 5s and 5c have been sold worldwide. Analysts were predicting smaller sales; what is more, the figures have exceeded the sale of iPhone 5. One year ago 5 mln. iPhones 5 have been sold during the first days, as reminded by “Hi-tech” department of the “Market Leader”.
Before the start of sales the analyst of Piper Jaffray Gene Munster used to claim that new “apple products” will be released in the quantity of 5-6 mln. items during the first weekend.
High sales have been influenced by a number of factors. First of all, the brand “Apple” is highly estimated, so many people try to keep up to date with fashion. Secondly, sales have been increased by the presence of new operating system iOS 7. As informed by the company, about 200 mln. devices have switched to the new platform over the weekend. This is two times more than in case of iOS 6.
