Microsoft has recently purchased Nokia, a major finish manufacturer of mobile devices. The US tech giant is fairly ambitious and is planning to consolidate its position in the segment by means of Nokia’s capacities. First of all, Microsoft’s goal is to turn its mobile OS – Windows Phone – into a major mobile OS along with Android and Apple’s iOS by increasing its market share from 4% up to 15%.
Along with Nokia’s business, Microsoft acquired a package of patents and cloud services, which make rival to Google’s ones. At this point, Lumia smartphones are reported to be getting increasingly popular worldwide, which is god news for Microsoft and Nokia.
The chart below, courtesy of Masterforex-V Academy, reflects the current state of affairs in the market of MFTS. Strange as it may seem, but the stock is retracing after an upward momentum since Microsoft spent a lot of money on the Nokia deal. Anyway, experts say the stock is going to recover and strengthen in the short run.
