On August 23rd, Microsoft introduced a new version of its popular operating system, It is called Windows 8.1. The number of the RTM-version is 9600.16384.130821-1623.
RTM means that the development is completed and the OS is ready to be distributed. Traditionally, the RTM version of any new OS is delivered to the subscribers of ТechNet and MSDN.
The new Windows is expected to come into market on October 18th. This is the official release date.
Windows 8.1 is a major update of Windows 8, which proved unsuccessful worldwide. The renewed version contains the conventional “Start” button on the desktop. The developers also added the support of small-screen tablets and equipped it with Internet Explorer 11.
