Lenovo, a Chinese manufacturer of computer electronics, became the world’s major PC manufacturer last quarter. In particular, the company conquered 16,7% of the global market during the reporting period. For comparison sake, in Q2 2012, it was just 15% of the market.
Still, the situation in the market of desktop computers is critical since the sales are falling dramatically, thereby yielding to laptops, tablets and smartphones. HP used to be the leader for a long time but Lenovo took over the lead.
At this point, Lenovo is the most popular computer brand in China, Japan and Germany. The company’s market capitalization is currently equal to 39%.
