BlackBerry is currently working on new mobile devices. It is planning to start producing low-cost smartphones to make them affordable to more people. Moreover, the company is working on a new device which is expected to have a 4.7- inch touchscreen.
The new devices will be powered by the 10th version of BlackBerry OS. However, there are no further details on the company’s plans. They are kept secret.
However, the BlackBerryOS internet forum, which was created to discuss the existing and future devices manufactured by BlackBerry, provided some information about a new device of the R series along with some photos.
The new smartphone is said to have a QWERTY keyboard along with a large display. The new series is designed to replace the low-price Curve series of BlackBerry smartphones.
The company used to be unwilling to manufacture low-price devices. However, its strategy seems to have changed. The new devices are expected to come into market on September-October 2013.
For reference sake, BlackBerry has already introduced two devices this year. These are Z10 and Q10.
