Windows RT seems to have failed to come up to the expectations of Microsoft and its clients. Even Samsung, which always sells its products like hot cakes, has recently seen a major sales decline of Windows RT-powered devices in the USA and Europe.
At the same time, Microsoft’s plans to sell millions of “Surface” tablets have failed as well. The company used to lay big hopes on this devices but it is not in such high demand as the company’s analysts expected it to be.
At this point, Microsoft has sold only 1.5 million tablets (most of them are powered by Windows RT). Only 400 000 of Surface tablets are powered by Windows 8 Pro.
Still, some experts assume that it is too early to bury Surface RT alive as the new device was introduced only several months ago.
As for the company’s stock, it is still trying to recover after the collapse seen in late 2012.
