Lenovo, a major Chinese manufacturer of electronics, has recently made an official statement that it is not going to purchase BlackBerry (former Research in Motion), a Canadian tech company. The company’s press secretary said these are nothing but rumors.
Not so long ago, after the CEO of Lenovo gave an interview to Les Echos ,a popular French edition, thereby saying that BlackBerry might be a good option for investments, the company’s stock appreciated by 14% within a single trading session as investors treated it as a positive sign and started anticipating major positive changes.
For reference sake, Lenove, is today’s second biggest manufacturer of personal computers in the world. It yields only to Hewlett-Packard. It is currently trying to re-conquer the market of tablet PCs and smartphones. However, it is currently not among the major players in the global market of mobile devices.
