Presidential Election In Venezuela Scheduled For April 14th
According to The Associated Press with reference to the National Electoral Council of Venezuela , The presidential election in Venezuela is scheduled for April 14th.
It is expected that Nicolas Maduro, interim President of Venezuela , will be a candidate for the ruling party.
According to the Venezuela n legislation, presidential elections are held in 30 days after the previous president leaves office.
Hugo Chavez died on March 5th 2013 at the age of 58. Over the last 2 years he fought against cancer. Not long before his death Hugo Chavez came back to Caracas from Cuba, where he was on medical leave.
The local authorities decided to embalm Chavez’s body and place it in a glass tomb at a military museum not far from the presidential palace from which the socialist firebrand ruled for 14 years.
“We have decided to prepare the body of our “comandante” president, to embalm it so that it remains open for all time for the people. Just like Ho Chi Minh. Just like Lenin. Just like Mao Zedong,” Maduro said.
