Prediction of the Ministry of Agriculture on the yield of Bangladesh rice has increased by 0.2 mln. tons, in comparison to its January predictions, to 34 mln. tons. November predictions were the same as in January, whereas October prediction amounted to 34.1 mln. tons.
February report of IGC specialists left the level of rice beginning stocks at its previous level – 1 mln. tons, and November predictions were lower than further expectations by 0.1 mln. tons. The report has also increased the expected rice supply in the country by 0.2 mln. tons, in comparison to January predictions, to 35.3 mln. tons. November predictions were exactly the same as in January, and October assessment was 0.5 mln. tons higher.
Import predictions for current marketing year have amounted to 0.4 mln. tons, and predictions during two previous months have been the same.
This marketing year domestic consumption of rice in Bangladesh is expected to be slightly higher, in to compare to January predictions, namely, 34.6 mln. tons. November predictions have been the same, whereas in October it amounted to 34.9 mln. tons.
According to February prediction, transit volume of rice stocks in the country will amount to 0.7 mln. tons.
