The net profit of BASF declined by 21.2% down to €4.879bn in 2012. In 2011, the company earned €6,188bn. The profit decline was mainly caused by higher investments in oil and gas industries with higher taxes.
The company’s EBIT increased by 5.1% up to €8.881bn. At the same time, BASF’s proceeds increased by 7,1% up to €78,729bn.
This year the company is planning to consider dividend hikes up to 2.6 per share.
