This week US Ministry of Agriculture has contradicted predictions made by a number of analysts about high volume of sugar imported from China. According to the experts of US Ministry of Agriculture, this marketing year China will import 1 mln. tons of sugar, which is 75 percent less than last year. The Ministry’s initial prediction was 1.5 tons less.
Sugar beet production amounts to 1.26 mln. tons, which has increased by15.1 percent since last year.
Sugar cane production will be 18.6 percent higher than last year, it is predicted to amount to 13.32 mln. tons. Domestic use of the sweet product will amount to 15.3 mln. tons, which is 9.3 percent more than in 2011. Chinese ending stocks of sugar will amount to 4.341 mln. tons, which is 5.7 percent more than during the previous marketing year.
