The Second Academic Contest for Professional Traders organized by the Academy of Forex and Stock Exchange Trading, Masterforex-V, and ICM Brokers, started on 19 July, after preliminary and wide announcements in our magazine. A little less than a month remains before it finishes on 19 September. Even though the time has not come to gather the stones together, as the Biblical parable goes, it is high time an interim cutoff was done, like in sports.
It should be noted that the First Academic Contest drew an extremely wide response in the trader community. A great lot of opinions (mainly positive ones) and a great lot of suggestions (often, very interesting) were posted in a special thread. A number of traders who failed to participate impatiently inquired: 'When's the next one?'.
The Second Contest did not take long to come, and traders didn't take long to volunteer. As a result, the number of people involved in the Second Contest WAS MORE THAN THE DOUBLE of that of the First one - 584 against 260!
What do these figures represent? A lot of things. Firstly, trust to the Masterforex-V Academy. Secondly, conditions of the First Contest were clear enough and, most importantly, transparent. This is why, by the way, the Organizing Committee would not amend terms and conditions of the Second Contest in an awareness that they are satisfactory for the vast majority of participants.
So, what have we got at this moment? Top Ten looks this way today:

The trading index shown above is the main indicator of the contestant's performance. The formula for its calculation is quite complex, so there is no use putting it down here. This index takes all major trading figures into account: account growth, average profit per one profitable trade, maximum drawdown, and average loss per one losing trade - in general, everything that characterizes the trader's performance.
However, there were people who withdrew from the race, like in other competitions. By now, 110 people have ruined their accounts. What can we tell them? We can only repeat lines from Vladimir Vysotskiy's song: 'I rushed for ten thousand like for five hundred and got cooked... Your breathing - like I warned - let your down...'. You got to keep the main aim of the contest in mind - preserving the account.
It would be worth reminding that the Second Academic Contest is co-organized by ICM Brokers (which is, by the way, in the Supreme League of the Global Broker Rating from the Masterforex-V Academy). The company provides the contestants with a high-quality trading platform and high-speed support that allows trading without delays, requotes and other annoying misunderstandings. Besides, the company prepared impressive prizes for winners.
The Second Academic Contest is underway and is likely to give us quite a few surprises. As the popular saying goes, 'Don't count your chickens before they are hatched'. In our case, results will be announced, winners will be established and awarded after 19 September. The losers... will there be any, after all? We think every participant will get the main prize from participation - valuable experience.
