This is the Economic Calendar for Thursday. Let's see which news releases could move the currency markets.
Coming up first at quarter to 7 AM is the Swiss Unemployment Rate for January. It's fair to say that unemployment is of little concern to Swiss policy makers as the seasonally adjusted jobless rate has stood at just 3.3% for the past 8 months.
German Trade Balance for December is out at 7. Both exports and imports saw a strong growth in November, and trade surplus widened by more than 1 billion euros.
Coming up next at 1:30 PM GMT is the closely watched weekly update on US Jobless Claims. Initial claims dropped by 14 thousand during the week ending January 28, whereas the continuing claims went down by 39 thousand during the week ending January 21.

Japanese Producer Price Index for January follows at 11:50. The Index has been declining for 21 months straight, but the pace of decline has been slowing down for the past 7 months.
Reserve Bank of Australia will release its statement on monetary policy at half past midnight. It provides an overview of Australian economy, and it's a high importance release for the Aussie Dollar traders, although it should not be confused with interest rate announcements.
Australian Home Loans for December are out at the same time. Home lending rebounded in November, reversing a point 6% decline a month ago.
And Japanese Tertiary Industry Index for December concludes the schedule at 4:30. The Index returned to growth in November, having stood unchanged the previous month.
