Thursday is a very important day for all the Pound traders, so keep watching this Economic Calendar to find out more.
Starting things off at 8:15 AM are the Swiss Retail Sales for December. The November data was a pleasant surprise as sales finally returned to growth after 15 months of decline.
UK Construction PMI for January follows at 9:30. The Index surged by 1.4 points in December, hitting a 10-month high.
Euro Zone Producer Price Index for December is out at 10. The Index has been growing more than expected for the past 3 months.
Plenty of high importance UK data comes at noon GMT, when the Bank of England releases its latest monetary statement and, more importantly, the Inflation Report. Make sure you tune in for the press conference half an hour later, as Governor Mark Carney can expect plenty of questions about the Bank's response to Brexit.
Another closely watched event follows at quarter past noon, when ECB President Mario Draghi will be speaking about Slovenia's 10 year anniversary in the Euro zone.
The highly anticipated weekly update on US Jobless Claims comes at half past 1. The previous report was somewhat disappointing as initial claims grew by 22 thousand during the week ending January 21. The continuing claims went up as well, gaining 41 thousand during the week ending January 14.
Australian Performance of Services Index for January will be available at 10:30 in the evening. The Index gained no less than 6.6 points in December and now stands at its highest level in more than 9 years.
Japanese Services PMI for January is out at half past midnight. The Index grew by half a point in December, posting its third consecutive monthly increase.
And Chinese Caixin Manufacturing PMI for January concludes the schedule at 1:45. The Index has stood in the positive territory for the past 6 months, and the December reading was the highest in 3 months.
