The first day of February brings the latest Fed monetary policy statement, so let's take a closer look.
Starting things off at 7 AM is the UK Nationwide House Price Index for January. December data surprised on the upside as home prices posted their largest increase in 11 months.
Swiss January PMI follows at 8:30. The Index eased in December from the 2-year high reached the previous month.
The final reading of Euro Zone January Manufacturing PMI is out at 9. The initial estimate suggests the Index has been growing for 5 months straight.
UK Manufacturing PMI for January will be available half an hour later. A surge in production and new orders pushed the Index to a 30-month high in December.
Coming up next at 1:15 PM GMT is the closely watched US ADP Employment Change for January. The previous report came in somewhat weaker than expected, following a strong 215 thousand gain a month ago.
Canadian Manufacturing PMI for January is out at 2:30. The Index has been rising for the past 3 months, and the December growth in new orders was the strongest in 2 years.
The high importance US ISM Manufacturing Index for January will be available at 3. The Index surged by 1.5 points in December and, once again, much of the growth came from new orders.
The Fed will release its highly anticipated Monetary Policy Statement at 7. The markets are not expecting any interest rate hikes, and this meeting will not have a press conference.
Australian Building Approvals for December follow at half past midnight. The number of approvals rebounded in November, following 3 months of decline.
Australian Trade Balance for December is out at the same time. Trade balance turned positive in November, having stood in the red for the past 31 months.
And Japanese Consumer Confidence for January concludes the schedule at 5. Confidence saw a strong growth in December, reaching its highest level in more than 3 years.
