Italy is under the threat of getting into a political deadlock. The thing is that tomorrow Italian political parties representing the parliament will be deciding on whether to ban Silvio Berlusconi from political activity. On September 9th the Senate commission will be considering the possibility of depriving him of privilege of parliament.
At this point, Berlusconi is under home arrest for tax evasion. Still, he threatens to destroy agreements in the coalition government. Experts say this is unwise amid first signs of economic recovery in Italy. If Berlusconi’s party leaves the stable coalition government, it will cease to exist. If this is the case, this may turn into a political and economic disaster.
