Photo: Euro Group Gets New President
Jean-Claude Juncker, Prime Minister of Luxembourg, has recently stepped down as President of the Euro Group, which is a meeting of the finance ministers of the eurozone. Jeroen Dijsselbloem, Finance Minister of the Netherlands, is his successor.
During an interview, when asked whether he was glad to leave that “madhouse”, he answered that he wouldn’t call like that as he had been glad to work there. However, he complained that over the recent months nobody seemed to pay attention to his suggestions.
According to Pierre Moscovici, Finance Minister of France, the newly-appointed head of the Euro Group is a strong and independent person. Therefore, he expects him to be determined to resolve a number of key issues. At this point, it is difficult to figure out who the new head really is as he has been the Finance Minister for 3 months.
