New report of Moody’s says that US television industry is predicted to remain stable, despite the expected drop of income from advertizing in 2013 (this is connected with rise of income last year due to political and Olympiad-related advertizing):
“This year advertizing income from main sectors, such as automobile production and services will increase by 1-3 percent, but total advertizing income will drop by 5-7 percent due to absence of advertizing connected with presidential race in the USA and summer Olympics,” says vice-president, senior analyst Karl Salas. Nevertheless, the expert claims that predicted growth during the next 12-18 months corresponds to Moody’s expectations of stability in relation to terrestrial television.

Traders about Future of US Television Companies
Taking into consideration the growing competition of cable television and Internet media, including sheets and mobile phones, Moody’s does not expect income from television advertizing to return to its peak levels (which used to be in 2006) for at least two years.
Leaders of television markets expect higher fees from rebroadcast, for there last negotiations about higher payment from cable, satellite, and telecommunication companies.
Nevertheless, fragmentation of media and higher competition keep casting pressure on perspective growth of broadcasting. The share of cable television and Internet media will keep rising, thus reducing the rate of growth.
